Marks and Spencer Warrington

The Gemini store is Marks and Spencer’s flagship store of the North. Originally built in 1994, it was one of the first out of town retail parks and has been a huge success for M&S. The store undertook a major refurbishment in 2009/10 which consisted of building a new 25,000ft steel extension whilst at the same time upgrading the existing roof waterproofing. Hyflex Roofing, working in conjunction with Wates Retail, were awarded the roofing package totalling 7,500m².

The entire refurbishment had to be completed by mid November 2010 to enable the store to open fully prior to the Christmas period. Hyflex began work in August 2010 and successfully handed over the project within the agreed programme completion time and to the satisfaction of the client.

Marks & Spencer - Culverhouse Cross

Description:

This work was carried out in line with Marks & Spencer's ongoing refurbishment programme.

Completed in February 2011, the client required a complete overlay of the existing roof covering which was predominantly single ply waterproofing. They also required additional repairs to various roofs and detail work to the perimeter concrete coping stones and joints.

Hyflex Exemplar PMMA cold applied liquid waterproofing systems were applied to the complete roof, perimeter copings and gutters which amunted to an area of 2581 square metres. The work was completed over a 20 week working programme and was delivered on time.
